Our home at 29 East Street has a long tradition of baking going back to the 1830s. Master Baker and wedding cake specialist G.B. Louvier took over the bakery in 1914 and the name has endured.
Our on-site ovens were originally coal-fired and an area to the rear of the bakery housed a coal pit. Today, this is the place we store our organic flour!
Our wide range of breads are still hand-made on the premises the time-honoured way, taking time, using the simplest ingredients of flour, water, levain for sourdoughs and yeast for everyday loaves.
